A comfortable chalet, which is truly a home from home

Chalet Shanida was built in 1973 by the Berry family from the UK as an alpine retreat away from the rest of the world.

The Chalet is situated in the small alpine village of Fischbiel at almost 6,000 feet (1800m). The Lauchernalp skiing area is only a short distance away, accessible by SnowCat or by taking a scenic run to the valley floor and catching the cable car up the mountain.

The house is designed to make the most of the fantastic scenery that surrounds it from all angles. The balcony catches the morning sun on one terrace and the afternoon sun on the other. The chalet is extremely comfortable and sleeps ten people in 5 bedrooms.

The chalet is built over three floors, with two bedrooms, one bathroom and the boot/boiler room on the ground floor. The middle level consists of the kitchen and the living area which is very spacious and opens onto the large balcony that surrounds the house. The third floor has three bedrooms, one en-suite bathroom and another bathroom. The chalet has all the comforts of home - there is a television in the lounge area and even a broadband connected personal computer for guests use free of charge. Modern equipment can be found in the kitchen, including dishwasher and a washing machine and tumble drier in the boiler room.
